Overview
NDC322IO is a speed regulating driver for two-phase hybrid motors less than 2.0A that launched by Noketech.
It adopts the latest DSP technology of Ti, and taking advanced digital filtering technology, anti-resonance technology and real-time precision current control technology to make it realize precise smooth operation, extra low noise. It’s especially suitable for semiconductor, electronic processing equipment, laser processing, medical equipment and small CNC equipment.
Adoptive motor: 20、28、35、39、42 series two-phase hybrid stepping motor.
Driver Parameter Settings
1)Working (dynamic) current setting
NDC322IO provides two output current options through SW1, as shown in the following table:

SW6: When using NDC322IO, SW6 must be OFF at all time!
2)Maximum speed setting
NDC322IO can set the maximum running speed of the motor through the DIP switches of SW2, SW3, SW4 and SW5, as shown in the following table, and the speed unit is RPM.
If the user's application system requires more precise speed, the speed can be finely adjusted by adding an external potentiometer. The wiring method of the external potentiometer is shown in the following drawing:

3)Precise speed adjustment
NDC322IO can finely adjust the speed through an external potentiometer, and the maximum running speed of the motor is shown in the drawing above. Unit: RPM.
When NDC322IO is not connected to the potentiometer, the motor runs with the highest setting value of each gear.
The wiring method of the external potentiometer: the middle tap 2 pin is connected to Vi, the 1 pin of the potentiometer is connected to the power supply GND, and the 3 pin of the potentiometer is suspended, as shown in following drawing.

Please note that the Vi has been internally pulled up to 3.3VDC, the potentiometer does not need to be connected to another power supply, just two pins, otherwise the drive may be damaged.
4) Quiescent (static) current setting
In order to improve the driver and motor heating, NDC322IO automatically enters half current in standby state.

3. The way to improve heat dissipation
1)The reliable working temperature of the drive is usually within 60℃, and the working temperature of the motor is within 80℃;
2) In order to reduce the heat of the motor and drive, it is recommended to select the automatic half-current mode when using that the current decreases by half automatically when the motor stops.
3)When installing the driver, please install it vertically and sideways, so that the heat sink teeth forms strong air convection; when necessary, install a fan near the drive for better heat dissipation, to ensure that the drive works within a reliable operating temperature range.
