Overview

NDC872H is an AC speed-regulated drive for the 86 series two-phase hybrid motor. It adopts the latest DSP technology of Ti, and the motor runs at a speed of 0~900RPM. No need to cotrol pulse. It adopts advanced digital filtering technology, anti-resonance technology and real-time precision current control technology to make the two-phase hybrid stepping motor realize precise smooth operation, extra low noise. Especially suitable for the applications without control pulse, suitable for electronic processing equipment, laser processing, intelligent logistics and automated production lines and other fields.

2)Quiescent  (static) current setting

The NDC872H will turn to half current state automatically without setting. When the drive enters the standby state for 2s, the operating current of the drive is automatically reduced to about half (60% of the actual value), and the heat generation is theoretically reduced to 36%.


3)Set operating current and operating speed for the drive

 The operating current of the driver is set by dip switch SW1-SW3, and the current adjustment is as follows:

There are three ways to set the running speed of NDC872H, pls see details as follows:


1. When SW4 is 'on', the running speed is set by its own potentiometer VR2, the speed range is 0~900rpm, and the running speed increases gradually.

2. When SW4 is 'off', the running speed is set by the external potentiometer, and the speed range is 0~900rpm. The specific wiring method is shown in following drawing.

3. When SW4 is 'off', the running speed is set by the analog signal of the external controller. The effective voltage range of the analog speed instruction is 0.1V~5V, and the speed range is 0~900rpm. The specific wiring method is as shown in following diagram.

Control function description

The biggest feature of the NDC872H drive is that it does not need to control pulse to achieve precise and effective control. The specific operation functions are as follows:

1. When SW4 is 'on', its running speed will be set by its own potentiometer VR2: when the controller sends a valid 'start' start signal, the drive will start motor according to thespeed and operation direction of its own potentiometer. When the drive receives the 'CL' or CCL' limit signal, it stops running and waits for the reverse direction running command; when the motor is running, when it receives the 'stop' stop signal, the motor immediately decelerates and stops running.


2. When SW4 is 'on', its running speed will be set by its own potentiometer VR2: when the controller sends a valid 'start' start signal, the drive will start the moto according to the speed and running direction of external potenatiometer.  When the drive receives the 'CL' or CCL' limit signal, it stops running and waits for the opposite direction running instruction; when the motor receives the 'stop' signal within running state, the motor immediately decelerates and stops running.

During operation, the drive can track the speed change of the external potentiometer in real time.


3. Typical wiring case

NDC872H adopts 24VDC common anode interface, which can directly receive 24V control signal without additional current limiting resistor. As shown in drawing 8 and drawing 9. Typical Application wiring diagram- the controller is a PLC, and the motor speed can be easily adjusted through the built-in potentiometer or external potentiometer. If the user controller is 5VDC control signal, please order NDC872H-5.

3. The way to improve heat dissipation


1)Usually, the reliable working temperature of the drive is within 60℃, and the working temperature of the motor is within 80℃;

2)In order to reduce the heat of the motor and drive,  it is recommended to select the automatic half-current mode when using that the current decreases by half automatically when the motor stops.

3)When installing the driver, please install it vertically and sideways, so that the heat sink teeth forms strong air convection; when necessary, install a fan near the drive for better heat dissipation, to ensure that the drive works within a reliable operating temperature range.
